Alicia Luke, LCSW

Alicia Luke is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the Owner of Bluebird Counseling of Western Pennsylvania. Alicia is Licensed in Pennsylvania and Maine as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. 

 

Alicia has clinical experience across a variety of settings. Alicia received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a Minor in Counseling from Ithaca College in 2014.  She then went on to receive her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh and graduated in 2017.  Alicia has experience working with school aged children, adolescents and adults within community mental health, hospital social work, and outpatient therapeutic services.

Alicia is experienced within the areas of anxiety, bereavement, case management support, crisis intervention, grief, trauma and depression.  Alicia incorporates aspects of therapy methodologies and is always learning new approaches to incorporate in the therapy session. Alicia is also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which is a specialized methodology to engage in an heal from trauma or other negative life experiences.

 

Alicia utilizes therapy interventions based on an individual's needs and presenting concerns; meeting you where you are at in your life.  Alicia believes environment impacts the whole person and should be brought into therapy. Alicia’s goal is to create a safe space for each client to feel heard, supported, and validated.

Something you may find interesting about Alicia is that she is originally from Syracuse, NY and she has a significant other of 6 years and two dogs, Doobie and Ellie.
